La Vuelta 2019

Andorra hosts the 2019 Vuelta with the 9th stage, entirely in the Principality with a “sterrato” section, on Sunday, September 1.
This year we will once again enjoy all the greatness of cycling on September 1st, as Andorra will be the setting for the 9th stage, which will also be held entirely on our roads. In addition, for the first time in the history of La Vuelta, part of the route will be on dirt, what is called “sterrato”. The section, of almost 4 kilometers, will take the riders from the Engolasters lake to the Cortals d’Encamp along the Camí de les Pardines.
The stage, of 96.6 kilometers, will cover five passes on a route that will be very similar to that of 2018. On this occasion, the runners will pass through the Coll d’Ordino (1980 meters; 1st category), the Coll de la Gallina (1905 meters; special category), the Coll de la Comella (1350 meters; 2nd category), the Coll de Engolasters (1640 meters, 2nd category and new this year) and the Coll de Cortals de Encamp (2095 meters; 1st category), where the finish line will be.
Andorra will offer all cycling fans and followers one of the most exciting and demanding stages of the competition, which will certainly mark the outcome of the race.

The Vuelta, one of the three most important stage races on the International Cycling Union (UCI) world calendar along with the Giro and the Tour, will start in Torrevieja (Alicante) on August 24 and will end in Madrid on September 15.
