New pedestrian space

The street of the General Council opens, which connects the National Bus Station with Prat de la Creu street and the parliamentary headquarters.

Andorra la Vella has inaugurated this morning the Consell General Street, a new pedestrian area in the center of the parish. The new road connects the National Bus Station, Prat de la Creu Street and the parliamentary headquarters. The Consell General Street has more than 1,000 square meters, of which 520 meters are intended for a public square and the rest for the new road, with a width of 20 meters and 7-meter sidewalks. The urban development project of the space has also involved the construction of an exit ramp to the Historic Center Parking. The initiative is the result of an urban development agreement signed between the Municipality of Andorra la Vella and all the owners of the Prat del Rull area, organized in an Urban Development Association (APU). The total cost of the work, which was used to build the complementary public square on the road, was around 3 million euros, of which 1.2 million were assumed by the Municipality and the rest by the owners of the area. In this sense, the corporation thanked the public-private collaboration to make the project a reality. The event was attended by the main municipal authorities, as well as the head of government, Xavier Espot and the general auditor, Roser Suñé, among other political figures. Representatives of the owners of Prat Rull also attended. On behalf of Molines Patrimonis, the company’s general director, Pascual Gracia, attended. Source: Comú Andorra la Vella/Molines Patrimonis
