Impulse at the Margineda Deposit

Collaboration agreement to promote the comprehensive management of the
jsite of the Roureda de la Margineda and bring it closer to the public.

The Minister of Culture and Sports, Sílvia Riva, together with the Consul General of Andorra la Vella, Conxita Marsol, and the General Director of Molines Patrimonis, Pascual Gràcia, signed this Tuesday a collaboration agreement between the three institutions to decisively promote comprehensive management of the Roureda de la Margineda site. Among the points included in the agreement, the Government undertakes to draw up a conservation plan for the site and to create a technical commission and a management commission to guarantee the successful implementation of the plan. In addition, and as a medium-term action to ensure the preservation of the site, an aerial structure will be installed to cover the site.
Likewise, the agreement also contemplates developing a master plan with the aim of achieving comprehensive conservation, museological discourse, museography and the management model of the site, understood as a space linked to the town of Santa Coloma and the Roc d’Enclar.
For its part, the Andorra la Vella community will make improvements to access to the site by creating an infrastructure that allows people to move around and see the site, as well as the social use and enjoyment of the leisure and rest area that will be set up in the space. Specifically, it will build a walkway that will fly over the site so that everyone can see it. The work will be carried out in the adjacent 6,000 square meter oak grove of communal property that, in turn, will be adapted as a public natural park. This new wooded area can be accessed both from the renovated southern section of Avinguda d’Enclar, and from a direct connection that will be adapted from the town of Santa Coloma.
