THE TOWER reaches the 20th floor. Work continues on the cladding of the facade and the completion of the assembly of the facilities. Nearly a hundred people are working on this project, 90% of whom belong to companies in the country.
Last Friday, the first Tower in the Clot d’Emprivat area was crowned, a 20-storey building, which becomes the tallest in the Principality, and the first in the new Escaldes-Engordany. It took 18 months to raise the structure of the building. In November 2019, construction work began with the excavation of the plot. Today, a year and a half later, the building already has its structure completed, thanks to the dedication and involvement of the responsible team, made up of nearly 100 workers, including architects, designers and construction promotion.
The next construction phase is, on the one hand, to finish the installations, and on the other, to finish the facade. It should be mentioned that in parallel with the erection of the structure, work has already been underway on the cladding of the facade with the aim of reducing as much as possible both the execution time and the impact that an unfinished building of this size can cause. As it is a project with a single Tower, the construction of the building is much more efficient, and it is much faster to build. It is estimated that the facade will be completed at the beginning of 2022. The closure of the facade has frankly innovative characteristics. LA TORRE is the first building in Andorra to adopt a construction system that allows to minimize the construction time using pre-designed panels in the factory. Thus, everything can be easily assembled from the inside and the finishes are unbeatable since they are not conditioned by the skill of the operator. The material used for its coating is DEKTON. It is a new type of ultra-compacted surface that is manufactured by mixing raw materials. DEKTON is a product with high resistance to fire and heat, which means that the material does not degrade over time. It is an ideal material for cold areas as it resists thermal shock very well. With regard to the installations, with a demanding system of both thermal and sound insulation and with the incorporation of low-consumption installations, the highest standards of energy efficiency will be achieved. At a technological level, home automation solutions are incorporated that allow remote control of the usual services. 90% of the workers on this important work in the center of Escaldes-Engordany belong to companies in the country. The remaining 10%, for technical reasons, had to be hired outside the Principality due to the specific needs of the work that could not be met from Andorra, such as the assembly of the facade. LA TORRE not only has apartments for sale. It should be remembered that it will also have a part for rent: there will be 21 homes of between 80 and 100 square meters, with 2 and 3 bedrooms.
